In preparation for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 25, 2024, the final training session for polling personnel in the Bokaro Assembly area was held on Friday. This session took place in phases at Bokaro Ispat Senior Secondary School in Sector 2C and BSL Plus Two High School in Sector 2D. The presiding officers, along with P-1, P-2, and P-3 personnel, received their training.
District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC), Vijaya Jadhav, emphasized the importance of thoroughly reading the handbook on do's and don'ts to prevent any mistakes in duty performance. She also instructed that police personnel should not enter the polling booths, a responsibility that presiding officers must ensure. Additionally, she confirmed that all polling stations in the district would be equipped with webcasting to monitor activities directly from the district office, the Chief Electoral Officer's office, and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The training covered various topics, including heat wave precautions, health and medical kits by Civil Surgeon Dr. Dinesh Kumar, material handling by Shweta Gudia, dispatch center reporting by Pankaj Dubey, vehicle and postal ballot management by DTO Vandana Shejwalkar, and webcasting by Shailendra. Senior Nodal Officer and AC Mumtaz Ansari and Bokaro Returning Officer and SDO Om Prakash Gupta also provided crucial insights on protocols. Also
