Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday, instructed police and administration to remain on high alert 24/7 during the upcoming festival season, from Navratri to Chhath.

He emphasised the importance of learning from past incidents and implementing effective strategies to ensure a peaceful and harmonious environment.

In a video conference with district magistrates and district police chiefs, the chief minister reviewed the law and order preparations for the festive period.

He asked the district authorities to communicate with local puja committees within the next two days to ensure that no road excavation occurs for pandals, and traffic flow is maintained.

Committee members must also ensure that their activities do not offend any religious sentiments, he said, adding that clarity on the routes for idol immersion is essential, and it should particularly avoid high-tension wires. Fire safety measures must be in place at all pandals, he added.

Officers, from beat constables to senior officials should patrol actively to reassure the public and deter any disruptive behavior during the festivities, the chief minister stressed.

He instructed the Transport department to increase bus services on rural routes and ensure that drivers and conductors maintain good relations with passengers.

Ahead of Diwali, all beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana will receive free cooking gas cylinders, he added.

Concerns over potential disruptions to rail traffic have been raised, with calls for improved intelligence operations. Strict measures against open meat sales and illegal slaughterhouses will be enforced, particularly near religious sites. All hospitals must maintain 24/7 doctor availability, and campaigns against food adulteration will continue, he added.

The Mission Shakti initiative for women’s safety and empowerment will soon enter its fifth phase, with each department required to implement planned actions effectively.

The chief minister concluded by emphasising the need for timely resolution of revenue-related issues, ensuring no delays in services affecting the public.
