Andaman based 24-year-old engineering student died while one of two friends sustained grave injuries and one escaped with minor injuries after their bike was hit by a speeding truck near Salkanpur temple.
Police said that near Salkanpur temple, three bike riders were hit by a truck carrying sand on Monday morning at 11 am. One youth died in the accident and one was seriously injured.
The youth driving the bike suffered minor injuries. He immediately informed the police about this. On which both the youths were admitted to Rehti Community Health Center and from where they were referred to Bhopal.
One of the youths identified as B Praveen died on the way while another youth is undergoing treatment at Hamidia Hospital where his condition remains is reportedly critical. The postmortem of the deceased was done and the body was handed over to the family.
The three youths were going from Bhopal to Salkanpur temple on Monday to visit. During this time, a truck hit them. Due to which B Praveen and Basori Inwati, who were sitting behind on the bike, fell down and got hit by the tire. In the accident one leg of Praveen was completely damaged and amputated while the other was also broken. At the same time, both the legs of Basori Inwati were crushed. Dharmendra, who was driving the bike, got dragged along with the bike. But, he did not get any injuries. Praveen died on the way to the hospital.
The deceased B Praveen (24) was a resident of Andaman and was doing B.Ed from PGBT College, Bhopal. He was in Bhopal for the last one year. His family members are fishermen.
Basori Inwati, who was seriously injured in the accident, is a resident of Seoni and is a B.Tech fourth year student in BITS College, Bhopal. His father is a farmer.
The third youth Dharmendra is a resident of Chhindwara. The police have registered a case and handed over the body to the family after postmortem.
