Efforts underway make Maha Kumbh 2025 largest, safest gathering

Wednesday, 04 December 2024 | PNS | Prayagraj

The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to make Maha Kumbh 2025 the largest and safest gathering in the history of Sanatan Dharma.

As part of these efforts, state-of-the-art remote light buoys are being deployed on a large scale. These advanced devices are designed to quickly reach any location, providing timely guidance and ensuring the safety of individuals before potential dangers arise.

To safeguard the 45 crore devotees expected to attend, the government has deployed 700 flag-mounted boats, manned by PAC, NDRF, and SDRF personnel. These boats will operate 24/7 to ensure the security of pilgrims from across the country and abroad. In the event of emergencies, a comprehensive evacuation plan via Maujgiri has also been put in place.

Additionally, to enhance safety measures, all dilapidated boats operating between Sangam Nose and Kilaghat will be removed to ensure a secure and seamless experience for devotees.

Under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, preparations are underway round the clock to ensure the safety of devotees at Maha Kumbh 2025, with the goal of making it the largest cultural event on Earth.

Inspector General of Police, Eastern Zone (Prayagraj), Dr Rajiv Narayan Mishra, along with Commandant of SDRF Satish Kumar, visited Sangam Nose and VIP Ghat to review the security arrangements.

They were briefed on the tight security measures in place to monitor and ensure the safety of every devotee. Personnel from the PAC, SDRF, and NDRF are receiving training in modern technologies and emergency management.

Ultra-modern life jackets, four new floating jetties, and rescue tubes have been ordered for the soldiers to ensure they are fully prepared to handle any emergencies.

Special security arrangements have been made at Kila Ghat to ensure the smooth movement of VIPs and the safety of all devotees.

Special forces will be deployed to address any issues faced by devotees, both from India and abroad. Tight security measures are also being implemented from Saraswati Ghat to Sangam Ghat, with deep barricading in place.

Additionally, the installation of safety nets around the ghat is in its final stages.

To ensure the safe and smooth conduct of Maha Kumbh, flood relief teams from the 4th and 42nd Battalions of PAC inspected Sangam Ghat and other bathing ghats under development.

Rehearsals were conducted to prepare for any adverse situations that might arise during the event. Dr Rajiv Narayan Mishra directed the personnel to stay alert and perform their duties with diligence.

Dalnayak of the 4th Battalion, Ravindra Prasad, and Dalnayak of the 42nd Battalion, Mithilesh Rai, briefed the team on security protocols to ensure the safety of devotees.

Dr Rajiv Narayan Mishra announced that seven PAC companies have been deployed to ensure the safety of devotees attending Maha Kumbh.

One company has been assigned to the GRP, another to the commissionerate, and five companies have been deployed at the fair.

Two of these five companies are specifically dedicated to flood relief operations. These teams consist of skilled swimmers trained to handle any emergencies that may arise.

Security personnel deployed for Maha Kumbh are undergoing specialised communication training to ensure seamless coordination across various teams. They are being trained on how to effectively communicate when transitioning between boats or during an emergency situation.

Additionally, rehearsals were conducted to prepare for potential emergencies, such as a boat capsizing or other untoward incidents. The soldiers demonstrated their skills during a patrol, with Dr Rajiv Narayan Mishra and Satish Kumar overseeing the training.
