Wednesday, 07 February 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The Enforcement Directorate will investigate the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) paper leak case. Regarding this matter, the ED team will soon file an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) and start investigating the entire matter.

It is noteworthy that regarding this matter, ED has written a letter to Ranchi Police asking for a copy of the FIR lodged by JSSC at Namkum police station. The question paper of General Graduate Qualifying Combined Competitive Examination 2023 conducted by JSSC was leaked. An FIR has been registered in the question paper leak case. Commission's In-Charge Undersecretary, Madhumita Kumari has registered a case against unknown people at Namkum police station. It has been said in the FIR that the question paper was leaked before the commencement of the examination on January 28. The Commission got this information through social media. In this case, a case has been registered under sections 467, 468, 420 (120B), IPC 66 IT Act and Jharkhand Conduct of Examination Act 2001.
The Commission had cancelled the third shift examination due to a question paper leak. But after the uproar and scuffle outside the JSSC office in Ranchi regarding the paper leak, the Commission cancelled the entire examination.

The State Government has also constituted an SIT to investigate the question paper leak of JSSC CGL exam. A special task force has been formed under the leadership of Ranchi Sadar DSP Sanjeev Kumar Besra. Many policemen including four police inspectors are included in the SIT. Ranchi SSP has issued an order related to this.

Protests are continuing across the state regarding the question paper leak issue. Demonstrations were held in other districts including Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Giridih, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Jamshedpur, Ramgarh and Seraikela, demanding a CBI investigation into this scam. The effigies of former CM Hemant Soren and JSSC President Neeraj Sinha were burnt by Jharkhand State Students Union. Taking the issue of paper leak in the examination held on January 28, JSSC has sought reports from all 735 centres. The centers have been asked that the time for opening the box of the third paper was fixed at 2.45 pm. What time was it opened?
