Dr Anjum Jamal India's first Rayeen female PhD awardee of 1990 passes away. Dr. Anjum Jamal aged 64 years (MA - Socio) (MA Pol Sci) BEd, MPhil, PhD Translator, Transcriber, Thesis Rewriter breathed her last the other day at her residence in Budhwara.
She completed her Doctorate under the guidance of IS Chouhan, Ex Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah University and former High Commissioner Fiji. She left behind her husband Shahabuddin Chaudhary English Sir, daughter Suaad Chaudhary pursuing Ph.D. English, and Son Tahauddin Chaudhary.She adopted professional expertise in translating works in English, Hindi, Urdu of Students, Thesis, Reviewing of professors, lawyers and journalists.
She was adept in translating British Period manuscripts and even translated dialogues of a Hindi documentary film in English. Her father M Saleem was a renowned and highly respected Urdu Poet of Bhopal. She was daughter in law of a famous educationist family of Late Aminuddin Chaudhary of Bhopal.
A pioneer opening the doors of female education in 1960 by admitting her eldest daughter in Aligarh Muslim University for higher education. Since then many of his grand children have acquired high degrees and doctorates and are even faculty members in AMU.
