Doon and other parts register below normal minimum temperatures

The minimum temperature dropped by a few degrees in Dehradun and other parts of the State on Thursday. However, clear skies and sunny conditions provided some relief from the cold during the daytime. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State today. The centre has also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of ground frost likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist likely to occur in some parts during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Wednesday were 22.6 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21 degrees Celsius and 5.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14.5 degrees Celsius and -0.5 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.1 degrees Celsius and 0.5 degree Celsius in New Tehri. The minimum temperature dropped four degrees below normal in Dehradun while it was two degrees below normal in Pantnagar, three degrees below normal in Mukteshwar and four degrees below normal in New Tehri.
