Ongoing development works and Simhastha 2028 works were reviewed at the Administrative Complex Building under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Rajesh Rajora in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj on Thursday.
Rajora reviewed the development work in various districts in the Ujjain division and held area-specific discussions with the respective MLAs. He instructed that better work be done for the development of the division through mutual coordination and communication.
Issues at the district and divisional levels should be resolved, and priority should be given to resolving issues that require state-level decisions, he said. Underlining the need for better coordination between public servants and the general public, Rajora stated that ongoing development projects must be completed on schedule.
The ACS said that water supply schemes under the 'Jal Jeevan Mission' should undergo thorough quality checks before being handed over to citizens. He asked for the schemes to be monitored by district collectors. He said that the district and division administration should keep public representatives informed of the progress of ongoing Smart City projects in their areas.
He also mentioned that the issues related to transformers, electricity supply, wires, and poles in the districts should be resolved immediately.
All executive engineers of the MP Electricity Board should organise meetings with local representatives to resolve electricity-related issues on a priority basis. He issued directives to complete the road construction works approved under the National Highway, Public Works Department, Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana within the stipulated time frame.
The Water Corporation provided information regarding water structures, drinking water supply, sewage disposal plans, and water requirements for Simhastha. It was reported that an additional 160 to 170 MLD of water will be needed for Simhastha.
Ujjain Development Authority CEO Sandeep Soni provided information regarding the master plan for Simhastha. The School of Planning and Architecture in Bhopal presented a proposed action plan related to heritage development and a sustainable development model for the city.The meeting was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj, MLAs Anil Jain Kaluheda and Satish Malviya, Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, and administrative officials, collectors, district panchayat CEOs, and municipal commissioners from all seven districts of the division.
