Delhi Public School Ranchi celebrated its 35th Foundation Day

Sunday, 18 August 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Delhi Public School Ranchi, one of the premier educational institutions in the state, celebrated its 35th Foundation Day, 'ABHIVYAKTI', with great enthusiasm and grandeur on August 17, 2024, at the Vivekananda Auditorium, marking another milestone in the school’s illustrious journey. The students, staff, and parents were filled with zeal to witness the extraordinary endeavours of the Ranchi Dipsites, who had rehearsed tirelessly for this occasion.

The day was made even more special by the presence of Honourable Mr. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad, Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, as the Chief Guest, and Honourable Mr. Justice Sanjay Prasad, Jharkhand High Court, as the Guest of Honour. Shri S.J. Jachuck, CGM (HR, RDCIS, SAIL) and Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Ranchi, along with Dr. Ram Singh, Principal of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi, presided over the event as special guests. The principals of eminent schools in Ranchi and other city dignitaries were also in attendance. The esteemed guests were honored by the school's Principal, Dr. R.K. Jha, with the presentation of saplings and mementos.

The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the luminaries, igniting the ceremonial spirit for this special day. This was followed by a melodious musical rendition by the talented vocalists and instrumentalists of DPS Ranchi. Subsequently, Principal Dr. R.K. Jha warmly welcomed the respected dignitaries, parents, and media persons, expressing his appreciation for their presence.

In his address, Principal Dr. R.K. Jha expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests for taking time out of their busy schedules to join the celebration. He briefed the audience on the school's efforts to foster the holistic development of its students and presented a report on the notable achievements of students in academics and co-curricular events. He reiterated the school's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and providing a nurturing environment that empowers students to achieve their full potential and positively impact society.

The festivities continued with a vibrant cultural extravaganza featuring a range of performances by the school's talented students. The students presented a play based on Shakespeare's tragedy, "Macbeth" which explores the destructive power of unchecked ambition and moral corruption. The play foregrounds how Lady Macbeth is instrumental in igniting and accelerating Macbeth’s vaulting ambition. How her manipulation, coupled with her dismissal of moral concerns, drives Macbeth to commit heinous acts. The drama tries to bring forward the consequences of their unbridled ambition showing how overambition strips them both of peace, leading to their ultimate downfall.

The audience was treated to a captivating dance drama titled "The Journey of Dance." This performance highlighted the evolution of dance in India, from the sacred Vaidik Kaal, where dance was revered in temples, to the Mughal era, where it became a form of royal entertainment, and through the British period, where classical dances were suppressed. Post-independence, traditional dance forms experienced a revival, reclaiming their cultural significance. Now, as The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 also emphasizes integrating dance into education, restoring its importance in Indian society and promoting it as a vital aspect of cultural heritage becomes the responsibility of the school.

Addressing the students, Honourable Mr. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad expressed his exhilaration at seeing the beautiful blend of various art forms. He congratulated DPS Ranchi for its achievements on state, national, and international levels. He commended the institution's efforts in instilling values and skills that prepare students for modern challenges, and applauded the relentless dedication of the educators in shaping the future generation. He motivated the students to become compassionate global citizens and to serve the community with honesty and dedication.

The other revered guests also motivated the students with their words of wisdom and lauded the school’s endeavors in providing quality education and fostering an environment conducive to the overall development of young learners.

The Foundation Day celebration at DPS Ranchi was a testament to the institution's outstanding achievements and its continuous pursuit of excellence. The program culminated with a vote of thanks.
