Show-cause notice to seven women supervisors

Sunday, 18 August 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Action has been taken by Ranchi DC Rahul Kumar Sinha for negligence in monitoring the ambitious Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana of the State Government. Seven women supervisors, including the Child Development Project Officer of Ranchi Sadar, have been show-caused for negligence in monitoring the scheme and not achieving the target.

Also, the salary of all has been suspended until a satisfactory explanation is found.

Under the Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana, verification was done on the information that the hard copy of the application form was not submitted to the concerned Zonal Officer as per the number of beneficiaries in the urban area. During the verification of Ward-36 Argora and Nagdi Zone, the matter of keeping the entered applications with the sevikas, not surveying the eligible beneficiaries and not visiting the area by the women supervisors came to light, after which this action has been taken.

Show-cause notice has been issued to seven women supervisors including Sadar CDPO and clarification has been sought from all as to under what circumstances the monitoring of the scheme was not done regularly, why disciplinary action should not be recommended in view of the laxity and negligence in the implementation of this important scheme.

A complaint of illegal recovery was received against Ranchi Sadar's female supervisor Anjana Das. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the DC immediately ordered the deputation of the female supervisor to Sonahatu project. Also, as the allegations leveled against the female supervisor seemed suspicious, the Child Development Project Officer, Sadar has been ordered to provide an investigation report with a clear opinion within 12 hours of receiving the letter.

Earlier, on receiving a complaint of illegal recovery, the District Social Welfare Officer had sought reasons from the female supervisor Anjana Das, which was found to be unsatisfactory.
