Bokaro Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav chaired a meeting of the District Advisory Committee under the PCPNDT Act, emphasizing strict compliance with the law. Key directives included mandatory CCTV installation in ultrasound clinics within a week, proper display of doctors' details outside clinics, and raising public awareness about the prohibition of gender determination tests.
Officials were instructed to conduct surprise inspections, scrutinize Form-F records, and ensure all clinics comply with registration and renewal protocols. The DC highlighted penalties for violations and announced incentives for whistleblowers reporting illegal practices.
Further, to raise awareness, all clinics will install flex boards highlighting the criminality of gender determination tests and providing details of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). The DC urged officials to intensify efforts to educate the public on the significance of gender equality and the provisions of the PCPNDT Act.
The meeting was attended by key district officials, including SDOs, the Civil Surgeon, nodal officers, and representatives from NGOs, who presented updates on previous inspections and planned strategies for stricter enforcement.
