Earlier former minister PC Sharma had sought permission to recite Hanuman Chalisa in the police station premises on the occasion of his worker Bunty Jain's birthday.
The police did not give permission to the former minister. Angered by this, Congress activists sat on the road in front of the police station.
The protest was consequence of Congress protest on Thursday at Ashoka Garden police station against the then Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang in the nursing scam case.
During this, BJP workers supporting the minister were reciting Sunderkand in the temple located in the police station premises. It was said that this event was organized on the occasion of the birthday of a BJP worker.
Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh had called it against the rules. Also, on the occasion of the birthdays of Congress workers, it was announced to recite Sunderkand and Hanuman Chalisa in different police stations of the city.

For this reason, on July 20, on the occasion of Congress worker Bunty Jain's birthday, permission for Sunderkand was sought from TT Nagar police in the temple built in the police station premises, which was not given. For this reason, Hanuman Chalisa was recited outside the police station. Our demand is that wrong permission was given for Sunderkand in Ashoka Garden police station. Action should be taken against those responsible in this matter.
ADCP Zone-1 Rashmi Dubey said that permission was sought for Sunderkand inside the police station premises. As per the rules, no private program can be organized in the police station premises. For this reason, barricading was done outside the police station.
