Congress to contest all 10 seats in UP bypolls

The Congress has commenced preparations for the upcoming assembly by-elections for 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh.

Party officials have assigned responsibilities to various MPs and MLAs to oversee different regions, reigniting discussions about the potential alliance with the Samajwadi Party.

In a meeting chaired by UP Congress president Ajay Rai at the UPCC headquarters here, it was decided that ‘Samvidhan Samman Sammelan’ will be held in each of the 10 assembly constituencies going to bypolls. These conferences aim to communicate the principles of the India alliance to grassroots workers.

Dates for the conferences were also announced during the meeting, which was attended by Congress in-charge of UP, Avinash Pandey, national secretary and co-in-charge Dheeraj Gurjar, Saty Narayan Patel, Neelanshu Chaturvedi and Tauqeer Alam. 

The conferences will start from September 29 and conclude on October 19.

As preparations intensify, state-level leaders are awaiting directives from the party top leadership regarding potential alliances and strategies.

In Mirzapur (Majhwan), the conference will be held on September 29. Ajay Rai will be the in-charge and Sadal Prasad  the observer.

In Prayagraj (Phulpur), the conference will be held on September 30. Rajesh Tiwari will be its in-charge and Prayagraj MP Ujjwal Raman Singh the observer.

In Muzaffarnagar (Meerpur), the conference will be held on October 7 with MLA Virendra Chaudhary its in-charge andSaharanpur MP Imran Masood the observer.

In Kanpur (Sisamau), the conference will be held on October 8. Neelanshu Chaturvedi will be the in-charge and Amethi MP KL Sharma the observer.

In Aligarh (Khair), the conference will be held on October 9 with former minister Naseemuddin its in-charge and Rajkumar Rawat the observer.

In Mainpuri (Karhal), the conference will be held on October 14. Tauqeer Alam will be its in-charge and Ramnath Sikarwar the observer.

In Moradabad (Kundarki), the conference will be held on October 15. Dheeraj Gurjar will be its in-charge and Sitapur MP Rakesh Rathore the observer.

In Ayodhya (Milkipur), the conference will be held on October 16. PL Punia will be its in-charge and Akhilesh Pratap Singh the observer.

In Ambedkarnagar (Katehari), the conference will be held on October 17. Satya Narayan Patel will be its in-charge and Keshav Chandra Yadav the observer.

In Ghaziabad, the conference will be held on October 19. MLA Aradhana Mishra Mona will be the in-charge and Barabanki MP Tanuj Puniya the observer.
