Congress has demanded the removal of Bhopal District Panchayat member Vinay Mehar from the post. Congress candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha Arun Srivastava has also written a letter to Commissioner Dr Pawan Sharma.
Mehar had shared a video on social media after voting. In which he was getting his son to vote. An FIR has also been registered against him in this regard.
Now Congress has raised the demand for his removal from the post also.
Mehar is a member of Ward-7 of District Panchayat. Congress took action under Section 40 of the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act and demanded removal of the member from the post.
Congress candidate Srivastava said, FIR has been registered against the District Panchayat member. At the same time, the entire polling party has been suspended by the Collector.
On May 7, the day of voting for Bhopal parliamentary seat, member Mehar had got his minor son to cast his vote at polling station number 71 Khitwas of Berasia tehsil. Its video was also posted on social media. After going viral it was also deleted. However, Congress had seized the issue. A complaint about this was made to the Election Commission.
After this, FIR was registered against member Mehar. Meanwhile, Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh had suspended the booth's presiding officer Sandeep Saini, his assistants CR Batham, Manoj Kumar Maurya and Madan Gopal Patel. The line was attached to the head constable Santosh posted at the booth. In this matter, Congress has now demanded the removal of the member.
