Soon after taking oath as the 13th Chief Minister of State Hemant Soren reached the State Secretariat at Project Building today and took some administrative decisions. The CM appointed his Principal Secretary and also took the first decision on the new single member Cabinet.
Officers of the State government welcomed the CM at the Secretariat. Senior officers, who met the CM, included Chief Secretary L Khiyangte, Additional Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Director General of Police Ajay Kumar Singh among others.
After taking oath, Soren reached the Secretariat and also reviewed some files. He also appointed Avinash Kumar as his Additional Chief Secretary. The Department of Personnel Administrative Reforms and Official Language issued a notification in this regard.
CM Hemant Soren also took the first decision of his Cabinet to call a special session of the Assembly on Monday, July 8. It is expected that on Tuesday, July 09, Cabinet expansion will take place. Many faces of the ministerial post can be changed in this. There is a possibility of a change of ministers from the Congress quota. For this, the state Congress leaders are holding meetings with the top leaders of the party in Delhi.
Soren was arrested by the ED on January 31. After this he was sent to judicial custody for about five months. After being released from jail on June 28, Hemant Soren has taken oath as Chief Minister for the third time today. At 5 o'clock the Governor administered him the oath of Chief Minister.
An important meeting of the MLAs of India Alliance was called on Wednesday. In the meeting, Hemant Soren was elected the leader of the legislative party. After this, Champai Soren reached the Raj Bhavan in the evening and resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Jharkhand.
Champai Soren, Hemant Soren, Congress state in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Rajesh Thakur, Pradeep Yadav, Satyanand Bhokta, Kalpana Soren were present in the evening. During this, Hemant Soren presented his claim to form the government.
Soren came out of jail on bail in the alleged land scam case on June 28. With Hemant coming out of jail, there was a rapid change in the politics of Jharkhand.
