CM for bringng rare and endangered wildlife species

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said that the possibility of bringing rhinos and other rare and endangered wildlife species into the forest areas of the state should be explored. Effective measures will be taken to protect human life from the wildlife. An action plan would be made for wildlife rescue centers at every division.

Yadav was addressing 26th meeting of Madhya Pradesh State Wildlife Board at Mantralaya here on Tuesday.

Forest Minister Shri Nagar Singh Chauhan, Minister of State for Forest Shri Dilip Ahirwar, Chief Secretary Veera Rana and Additional Chief Secretary Forest JN Kansotiya attended the meeting.

It was informed in the meeting that, teams from South Africa and Kenya have visited Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary and Kuno National Park for the upcoming phases of the Cheetah Project. All preparations have been made for Cheetah restoration in Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary. To increase the number of chitals in the area, they have been rehabilitated from Kanha and other places. Successful relocation of 50 bisons have been done from Kanha and Satpura Tiger Reserve to Sanjay Tiger Reserve.
