City buses have started running again on the Bhopal-Mandideep route. A total of 45 buses have been approved for operation. About 30 of these buses are running, but private operators are creating obstacles in it. They are forcefully deboarding passengers from city buses. Videos of 3 such cases have surfaced in two days. In this, they are seen abusing the driver-conductor and threatening to kill them while forcefully alighting the passengers.
Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) has also taken cognizance of the matters and complained to the police. Let us tell you that after the order of the High Court about 3 months ago, BCLL had stopped operating buses from Bhopal to Mandideep and Bilkisganj, which are within a radius of 25 kilometers outside the Municipal Corporation limits. Of these, service to Mandideep has been resumed. One of the two bus operators started operating buses on January 25 and the other on January 26.
A total of 45 buses have got permission to go from TR4 B Gandhinagar to Mandideep and TR4 from Chirayu Hospital to Mandideep (Satlapur/Simrai). For this, additional amount has been deposited by two bus operators to the Transport Department. Private bus operators have started controversies over operating buses. Passengers are getting scared as the drivers and conductors are threatening the drivers in the buses.
Complaint in Mandideep police station
BCLL has also filed a complaint in Mandideep police station. Officials said that in Mandideep and before that, private bus operators are not even allowing city buses to stand at the stops. At the same time, the buses are stopped on the way and the passengers are dropped off.
High Court had given this order
About three months ago, the Jabalpur High Court had given its decision not to operate the city (metro) buses operated under the Amrit Yojana outside the municipal limits.
The High Court had canceled the order of the state government, in which permission was given to operate city buses within a radius of 25 kilometers outside the municipal limits.
The court had said in its order that the scheme under which the said order was issued has not been gazetted.
Gazette notification of the scheme is necessary under Section 99 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The High Court had issued orders to all the municipal corporations including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, where city buses operate.
After this, city buses were stopped in Bhopal also. However, after depositing the additional tax, buses have been started again for Mandideep.
On the other hand, the process is also being done to issue notifications at the department level.
