After coal royalty, now it has come to light that the Centre owes Rs 600 crore in MGNREGA funds. Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh has raised her voice in this matter. She has demanded the Centre to give this money.

Singh has said that this is affecting the payment of workers and development of rural areas. She said that this is causing problems in running the rural economy properly. "This money owed to the Centre belongs to our farmers and workers. The preparations are being made on how to take back this money from the Centre," she added.

For the recovery of this money, the main ally party in the State Government, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), has also raised its voice.

The Centre also owes Jharkhand Rs 1 lakh 41 thousand crore of coal royalty. In this regard, Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore and Jharkhand Secretary Prashant Kumar have raised their voice in the Union Budget meeting for the financial year 2025-26 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

He urged that the dues for development and welfare schemes in a backward state like Jharkhand should be paid soon. He said that the Center owes Rs 1.36 lakh crore of coal royalty and this amount is very important for the development of Jharkhand.
