Chief Minister Mohan Yadav chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held in Mantralaya today. The Cabinet decided to upgrade 12 thousand 670 mini Anganwadi centers currently operating in the state to full-fledged Anganwadi centres. It may be noted here that there is a provision for one Anganwadi worker in Mini Anganwadi centres. As per the decision, after the upgradation of these mini Anganwadi centres, there will be one post of Anganwadi worker and one post of Anganwadi Sahayika. A total of 476 supervisor posts at the rate of one supervisor for 25 upgraded Anganwadi centres were approved. The standards set by the Central Government will apply to the upgraded Anganwadi centres.

While the centre’s share in upgradation of the mini Anganwadi centers into full-fledged Anganwadi centres, will be Rs 3401.90 lakh, the state share will be Rs 17945.82 lakh. In this way, the total amount of additional annual expenditure will be Rs 21347.71 lakh.

Protection and financial assistance approved for victims of sexual crimes

Cabinet has implemented the “Scheme for Care and Support to Victims under Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012) under Section 4 and 6 of the Children’s Protection Act, 2012 (Amended 2019) under the Centre’s Mission Vatsalya in 55 districts of the state.

The objective of the scheme is to provide protection under the POCSO Act to the victims of sexual crimes and financial assistance from the Nirbhaya Fund of the Government of India and to solve the challenges faced by them. Rs 10 lakh will be allocated to each district from the Nirbhaya Fund. Districts will be able to use the funds as needed to assist victims of sexual crimes.

Approval for the creation of 6388 new posts under health institutions

The Cabinet approved the creation of a total of 6388 new posts (5936 regular and 452 contractual) in the total 454 health institutions sanctioned in 2022-23 and 2023-24 under the Department of Public Health and Medical Education. Apart from this, approval was also given to hire 1589 outsourcing agencies. The annual estimated expenditure on the creation of posts amounting to Rs 351 crore 17 lakh was approved. It has been approved to fill all the posts in the year 2024-25 by creating newly created posts.

Other decisions

The Cabinet gave the approval to give pension as per the seventh pay scale as per the circular of the Finance Department to university pensioners (retired officers, teachers and employees) who retired before January 1, 2016 and on or after January 01, 2016.
