General Observer Amit Singh Bansal, Police Observer M Ravi Prakash and Expenditure Observer Vimal Chandra Das, deputed by the Election Commission of India for Lohardaga Assembly Constituency under the Assembly General Election, 2024, on Friday, ensured peaceful, malpractice-free and error-free conduct of the Assembly General Election. For this, the necessary meeting was held with the senior, nodal and in-charge officers of all the cells including the Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police of the district.
In the meeting, their work was reviewed cell wise and directions were given point wise. Information about the polling party deputed for the elections was given by the Personnel Cell. Number of Form-12, dates of home voting informed by EDC/Postal Ballot Paper Repository. The training cell gave information about the dates of training of polling officials and the phase-wise training conducted. Senior Officer, Vehicle Cell gave detailed information about the vehicles required and available and used for election work. Senior Officer, Sveep Cell informed that to achieve better voting percentage, this time the Sweep team is working with the target of 80 percent votes. There was better achievement in Lok Sabha elections also. Door-to-door campaigns are being run for voters of remote areas. Six district icons are also participating in the sweep activities. Information about the first randomization conducted by the Senior Officer, EVA and VVPAT Cell was given. It was also told that there are a sufficient number of EVMs in the district. The Senior Officer, Expenditure Cell, gave information about the video surveillance team, video viewing team and the entire team deputed in the Expenditure Cell for monitoring the expenditure and was informed about the work being done. The dates of 3, 6 and 10 November 2024 have been fixed for scrutiny of the expenditure of the candidates. In the meeting, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna informed that for the successful conduct of the Assembly General Elections, 2024, cells have been formed which are reporting daily. Violations of the Model Code of Conduct are being continuously monitored at every level. After the release of election notification, nomination papers are being sold from October 18 and nominations are being filed by the candidates in front of the returning officer in his office. After holding a meeting with political parties, they were informed about model code of conduct, expenditure etc. SST team and VST team are continuously monitoring the cases of violation of model code of conduct. Work has been done on minimum basic facilities in polling stations. Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman informed that in the last elections in the district, voting was conducted peacefully in sensitive booths and general booths and said that all preparations have been made. Necessary security force information has been made available. Community harmony is also maintained in the district. There is no problem in conducting peaceful elections. Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, ITDA Project Director Sushma Neelam Soran, Deputy Election Officer Dheeraj Thakur, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Shraddha Kerketta and senior, nodal, in-charge officers of all the cells were present in the meeting.
