Additional Chief Secretary Department of Science and Technology Sanjay Dubey gave a presentation on department policies and investment opportunities at Regional Industrial Conclave Sagar.

Dubey said that the state's progress will incresingly depend on the kind and level of investment in IT/ITeS and ESDM sectors. He highlighted that in future, the growth of the country will not only be determined by metro cities but also by Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Madhya Pradesh in particular offers significant potential for investment in this sector.

Dubey said that Madhya Pradesh has a large vibrant Tech ecosystem and entrepreneurial culture. State government ensures active support to industrial units while offering advance infrastructure, connectivity within its region and technically skilled workers.

Currently more than 2 thousand IT/ ITeS & ESDM units are working in the state, with 650 units registered with MPSeDC in cities like Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior which have benefited from the policies of the state. The turnover of these units is more then Rs 10 thousand crore per annum. More than 50 of the country's largest IT & ITeS units are established in Madhya Pradesh. Every year, 500 million dollars worth of exports are done from the state through IT related industries. Madhya Pradesh has 5 IT SEZs, 15 IT parks built by the state government. More than 1.5 lakh people have got employment from these industries.

Dubey highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is home to over 300 engineering colleges, with top institutions like IIT and IIM in Indore, IIIT in Gwalior, IITDM in Jabalpur, and AIIMS in Bhopal, alongside several other national-level institutes. He also mentioned Anoop Rathore, an entrepreneur from a small start-up in Gwalior, who has developed a drone motor. While similar motors are imported from China at a cost of around Rs 20,000, Rathore’s innovation costs only Rs 1,500, showcasing the remarkable talent and entrepreneurial spirit present in the state.

Indore is the cleanest city of the country and Bhopal is the clean capital of the country. Madhya Pradesh ranks second in the country in overall cleanliness. The level of pollution is also low in the state due to which it is a better place for ease of doing business and work life balance. More than 1200 technological start ups are established in the state, out of which two "Neev Cloud & Shop Kirana" are unicorns.

He said that we have formulated the policy which has all types of incentives, The policy has fiscal incentives, non fiscal incentives, developer incentive, rental incentive and land related benefits. If the business is of more than Rs 200 crore, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister, which takes decisions and provides you additional benefits.
