A bullion trader of Sarafa Chowk Bazar of the state capital was attacked with a sharp edged weapon near Halalpur cracker market and tried to rob his valuables he was carrying; the victim got injured in his neck.
Police said at around 10 in the night on Friday 3 miscreants on a bike first attacked him with a sharp edged weapon on his neck and then went ahead. After the sudden attack, the businessman somehow managed to control himself.
Then the miscreants returned again and tried to snatch his bag by attacking his hand. The businessman raised an alert and when passersby started gathering, the miscreants fled. At the time of the attack, the businessman was returning home from his shop with a bag containing 20 rings and Rs 1 lakh in cash.
The businessman's friend Vinay Dadlani said an attempt was made to rob Jitendra Valecha's bag near Halalpur cracker market in Lalghati. There were 20 rings worth Rs 4 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash in that bag.
Due to the attack of the miscreants, a big cut was made in the bag containing the rings, due to which the rings and cash could have fallen. But, Jitendra immediately after the attack had turned the bag towards the bike's tank. This saved the rings and cash from falling.
Jitendra informed his friend who informed the Kohefiza police, and quickly rushed towards the spot. Meanwhile, as soon as the miscreants left, Jitendra rode his bike to his relative's house in Bairagarh. From there he was taken to LBS hospital, where he is being treated.
