The Berhampur University (BU) commemorated its 58th Foundation Day with grandeur in Bhanjbihar on Tuesday. The event was marked by the esteemed presence of eminent figures, with internationally acclaimed poet Harprasad Das gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
Delhi Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice-Chancellor Professor SantishreeDhulipudiPandit delivered an insightful keynote address, enriching the event with scholarly perspectives.
Presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Gitanjala Das, the ceremony spotlighted the university's advancements across various academic domains, reaffirming its commitment to progress and excellence.
Poet Das was honoured with the prestigious SamratUpendraBhanjaSamman from the university. The event also felicitated luminaries like eminent educationist Kamakshi Prasad Das, distinguished lyricist and dramatist BipinBihariMohapatra, senior Krishna Lila artist Gopinath Swain and acclaimed Gahan singer AbhimanyuRaut. The honour of the best alumni was bestowed upon renowned Odissi dance artist Guru Shikata Das.
The university administration took the opportunity to commend the exemplary work of its NSS officers and volunteers, honouring winners of college essay and oratorical competitions, as well as acknowledging the achievements of winners in non-teaching staff essay contests.
