Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) is set to inaugurate Happy Street today, a visionary initiative spearheaded by SAIL Chairman Amarendu Prakash, aimed at promoting active and healthy living while fostering unity within the community. The event will be inaugurated at 7:00 AM by B.K. Tiwari, Director In-Charge (DIC), BSL, in the presence of senior officials, dignitaries, and members of the district administration.
In his message ahead of the event, B.K. Tiwari said, “Happy Street is not just an event; it is a celebration of togetherness and healthy living. As the saying goes, ‘Do some of what you love, and let me do some of what I love.’ This is an opportunity for everyone to share their passions, talents, and commitment to a healthier lifestyle.”
The initiative, themed ‘Active Bokaro, Healthy Bokaro,’ will witness participation from citizens across various walks of life. Schools, educational institutions, Women’s Committees, Sangeet Kala Academy, CRPF, CISF, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Postal Philately Group, Ex-Servicemen Association, and other community organizations are expected to take part.
Highlighting the broader impact of Happy Street, M.K. Dhan, Chief of Communication, added, “This platform will provide an opportunity for residents to come together, engage in cultural and recreational activities, and embrace a healthier lifestyle. We hope to inspire individuals to adopt fitness and wellness as integral parts of their daily lives.”
To facilitate the event, traffic restrictions will be in place as one lane from Bokaro Mall Mod to Gandhi Chowk will remain closed to vehicular movement between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM. A range of activities, including cultural performances, fitness workshops, sports sessions, and recreational events, have been organized to promote community engagement and wellbeing.
The Happy Street program will conclude on Friday, January 24, 2025, coinciding with the celebration of SAIL Day. BSL officials have urged residents to participate enthusiastically and make Happy Street a lasting symbol of health, fitness, and unity.
