Hry Govt to run special campaign under ‘Swachh Haryana Mission’: Chief Secy
Chandigarh: Haryana Government will run a special campaign under the ‘Swachh Haryana Mission’ for institutionalising Swachhata and minimising pendency in government offices. Haryana Chief Secretary Vivek Joshi has written a letter to all Administrative Secretaries, Chief Administrators of Boards/Corporations and Divisional & Deputy Commissioners wherein guidelines have been issued to carry out activities under this campaign as preparatory phase up to December 31.
Solar panels to be installed on all Govt buildings in Hry: Power Minister
Chandigarh: Under a plan by the Haryana government, modern plants will be established in every district of the state to generate electricity from waste. These plants will convert waste into energy, contributing to both cleanliness in districts and electricity production. This decision was taken during a review meeting of the Department of New and Renewable Energy, chaired by Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij. The meeting included detailed discussions on the use of renewable energy and energy conservation strategies. It was also discussed in the meeting that solar panels will be installed on all government buildings in the state. Departments will be directed to provide information about their buildings to facilitate this process. Besides this, solar powerhouses will be set up in each district to power streetlights using solar energy. During the day, energy will be stored, which will then be used to supply electricity to street lights at night.
Student shoots self outside Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, critical
Rohtak: In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old student from in Sonipat district attempted to end his life by shooting himself in the head outside the History Department of the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. Eyewitnesses said he fell on the ground bleeding profusely after he shot himself. The weapon used in the act was reportedly a pistol meant for shooting sports. The injured student, identified as Sumit, a Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P. Ed) student at MDU, was immediately rushed to Rohtak PGI, Rohtak by fellow students. His condition is said to be critical. Authorities, including officers from the PGI police station and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, arrived at the scene after getting information about the incident to collect evidence and initiate an investigation.
Hry Governor Dattatraya invited to Maha Kumbh-2025
Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya was on Tuesday extended a formal invitation to attend the grand Maha Kumbh-2025 by Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Nandi and State Minister Jaswant Saini during a courtesy meeting at the Raj Bhavan. The ministers presented the invitation on behalf of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the revered Maha Kumbh festival, scheduled to be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, 2025. Governor Dattatraya graciously accepted the invitation and expressed his willingness to participate in the grand holy event.
Strict action will be taken against overloaded vehicles: Hry Minister
Chandigarh: Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana on Tuesday said that strict action will be taken against those operating overloaded vehicles in Charkhi Dadri district. The administration and police department will work together to address this issue. Rana said this while interacting with the media persons after reviewing complaints during the district public relations and grievance redressal committee meeting in Charkhi Dadri.
