“No decision yet on AAP-Cong alliance…Talks progressing in positive direction”

 

Chandigarh: AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Sunday said that Congress and his party are trying to form an alliance for the Haryana assembly elections. Both the parties are yet to reach a consensus on the alliance and talks are progressing in a “positive” direction, he said, while talking to the reporters. Chadha said that AAP will not go ahead with a pre-poll alliance with Congress if there is “no win-win situation”. He said: “The talks are happening in a positive atmosphere. Both parties are working towards contesting the elections together, prioritizing unity and the demands of the people of Haryana, while setting aside individual party and candidate aspirations…Ball by ball commentary cannot be done on the seat-sharing arrangement. Both the parties have the desire and hope to form an alliance.”

 

People will vote in favour of Cong to save Constitution, and brotherhood: Selja

 

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja on Sunday said that Congress’ struggle to protect the Constitution, safeguard reservations, and ensure justice for Dalits and backward communities is ongoing. Selja, in a statement, said that the Dalit community is united in defending the Constitution, ensuring that no political party will tamper with the Constitution drafted by Dr BR Ambedkar. Every Congress worker, both men and women, are protectors of the Constitution. “When the BJP gave the slogan of crossing 400 seats, some BJP leaders had stated that the Constitution would be changed if they succeeded, revealing the BJP's true intentions. The Constitution grants every citizen their constitutional rights and protects them. Congress embraces and supports all 36 communities,” she said.

 

Sukhu Accelerates Development in Dehra constituency

 

Kangra: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, during a high-profile visit to Dehra Assembly constituency in Kangra district on Sunday, issued directives to fast-track several pivotal development projects. He prioritized resolving issues with the forest department to facilitate construction of a new government college building in Dehra. He also called for establishment of a land bank in the area, and stressed on the urgent need to expedite construction of several key facilities, including a circuit house, an indoor stadium, a new SP office, and a critical care unit at the local hospital. Additionally, offices for the Public Works Department, Jal Shakti, and Electricity Board are to be established swiftly.

 

HPTDC chairman inaugurates historic Deorighat Fair

 

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation chairman RS Bali on Sunday inaugurated the three-day historic Shri Chikhdeshwar Mahadev Rishi Panchami Deorighat fair in Theog area of Shimla district being organized from September 8-10. Congratulating the people of Himachal for preserving their rich culture and traditions, Bali said that it was praiseworthy that the younger generation is making efforts to protect them. Bali instructed tourism officials to install a coffee table book and photo gallery showcasing Dev Parampara culture in each district of the state, adding that these galleries should be installed in all tourism department hotels, enabling tourists to experience Dev culture.

 

BoI celebrates 119th foundation day with green initiative

 

Mohali: On its 119th Foundation Day, Bank of India took a significant step towards a greener environment by planting 119 trees at Naggal Faizgarh. The initiative was undertaken in collaboration with Kheti Bhawan Punjab and the local community, led by Balwinder Singh. NBG general manager Anil Verma, and Deputy General Manager BK Singh graced the occasion and planted trees along with the dignitaries. Verma emphasized the Bank's commitment to serving society beyond its professional obligations, including preserving the environment.
