Himachal CM congratulates mountaineer Praveen Singh
Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday congratulated mountaineer Praveen Singh for being conferred with Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award-2022 which was presented to him by President of India Droupadi Murmu at New Delhi on Tuesday. Belonging to Kangra district, Praveen Singh is serving as ASI in BSF. He has scaled more than 20 Himalayan Peaks including Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga twice. Sukhu congratulated him for his remarkable achievement through his hard work and dedication.
Pb Transport Minister urges motor vehicle owners to affix HSRP
Chandigarh: Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Wednesday, urged all the owners/drivers to affix HSRPs on their vehicles on priority. The Minister said that as per the orders of the Supreme Court and notification of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, affixation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) is mandatory for all vehicles. These directives make it necessary for all vehicles registered in the State of Punjab to have High-Security Registration Plates. Bhullar mentioned various measures undertaken by the state government such as opening of additional fitment centers and offering the option of house fitment etc. to simplify the process of affixing HSRPs.
CM Mann felicitates GNDU for lifting MAKA for 25th time
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has congratulated the Guru Nanak Dev University for clinching the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) trophy for overall best performance at inter-university, national and international competitions.In his congratulatory message, the Chief Minister said that the University, its students and teachers had made Punjab proud by lifting this trophy for record 25th time. Reiterating his government's commitment to promote sports by upgrading the existing infrastructure to international standards and adding new ones to enable budding players from the state to compete effectively in national and international arena, Mann said that due to strenuous efforts of state government, players from Punjab had bagged a record medals in the recently concluded Asian games.

Chandigarh: To revitalize the cooperative landscape in Haryana, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at empowering Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). These measures target improved healthcare access, fuel availability, and overall service delivery through PACS across the state. After presiding over the second meeting of state-level cooperative development committees here in Chandigarh, he said that 84 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) have secured in-principle approval to operate under the PM Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra. Additionally, provisional approvals have been extended to six PACS for the establishment of petrol and diesel outlets. All panchayats have now been covered in the state by PACS, he added. Kaushal said Computerization of PACS is in full swing, with pre-testing aiming for completion by February 29.
Haryana is future of country for industrial revolution: Dy CM
Chandigarh: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Wednesday said that Haryana is poised to become the future hub of the country's industrial revolution, boasting a conducive environment for investors. The state government is actively offering various facilities to attract and support industries establishing their presence in the State. The Deputy CM shared this information during a discussion with Marissa Gerrards, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to India. Chautala was in Gandhinagar to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 and visited the "Haryana Pavilion" during the event.
