Bokaro Steel Plant marked Independence Day with great enthusiasm at Mohan Kumar Mangalam Stadium. Director-in-Charge  Birendra Kumar Tiwari hoisted the national flag and took the salute. Also present on stage were Deputy Commandant of CISF Digvijay Kumar Singh and other senior officials.

The event saw a significant turnout, including BSL’s Executive Director, Women’s Committee Chairperson Anita Tiwari, General Managers, senior officials, steel plant employees, children, and local residents.

In his address, DIC Tiwari congratulated everyone on the 78th Independence Day and highlighted Bokaro Steel Plant’s role in the country’s progress over the past six decades. He reflected on the plant's achievements, including those of the Bokaro Steel Plant, Jharkhand Group of Mines, and the Coal Division of SRU. He emphasized the plant's commitment to community development, city growth, and enhanced medical facilities.

Further DIC Tiwari noted ongoing improvements in township infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and maintenance, and assured that all remaining tasks would be completed. The entire road network, electrical system, and drainage are being upgraded in phases.

During the ceremony, 202 employees were honored with the Birsa Munda Excellence Award, and 27 CISF and BSL Security personnel received certificates of appreciation. Under the Steel Knowledge Scheme, Mr. Tiwari distributed special kits to children from the Birhor tribal community.

Additionally, DIC Tiwari flagged off the Steel Sanjeevani Mobile Medical Unit, which will provide free anti-TB kits to rural areas under CSR initiatives.

On Independence Day, the Women’s Committee, BSL Security Department, and Bokaro Steel Officers Association also hoisted the national flag at their respective premises.
