The Delhi BJP on Friday slammed former Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal's 'Revdi' politics, saying it looks like he is distributing ‘charity’.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said, “It is the duty of every government to ensure that welfare schemes reach every citizen but Kejriwal's language makes it seem like he is distributing ‘charity’.” He added that in states governed by the BJP, all central government schemes have been implemented effectively, contributing uniquely to societal progress. “However, Delhi remains an exception, as a corrupt government here has prevented the implementation of many central government schemes due to political rivalry,” he claimed, adding that welfare schemes should be accessible to all, yet Kejriwal’s tone suggests he is distributing “charity.”
He questioned why Kejriwal, who claims to provide free electricity, does not extend the subsidy to everyone. He also asked why electricity rates in Delhi are so high, with industrialists having to pay Rs 18 per unit. “Additionally, the Kejriwal government is exploiting Delhiites under the guise of surcharges,” he alleged, adding that the situation regarding water is no different.
Sachdeva also criticized the Kejriwal government for the mismanagement in school infrastructure. Talking about healthcare, he questioned the so-called free services claimed by Kejriwal. Appointments for tests in government hospitals are given years later, and expired fake medicines are being distributed.
He asserted that the benefits of welfare schemes are the right of every Delhiite, and the BJP will ensure these rights are upheld once in power. “If BJP comes to power, we will implement all central government schemes in Delhi and expand the scope of welfare programs in the state,” he added.
South Delhi BJP MP from and election manifesto committee convenor Ramvir Singh Bidhuri claimed that AAP supremo came to power by lying and now seeing his power slip away, he has started scaring the public. “Arvind Kejriwal has cheated the public in the name of freebies. BJP will not only keep all the current concessional schemes in place but will actually deliver the benefits of these schemes to the public because Kejriwal's claims are completely hollow,” he said.
