The state BJP celebrated the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day. Party workers at all the booths in the state remembered Atal ji by garlanding his pictures. State President Babulal Marandi inaugurated the exhibition on the personality and work of Atal ji at the state BJP headquarters.
Earlier, state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, regional organization general secretary Nagendra Tripathi, state organization general secretary Karmaveer Singh and other state leaders paid tribute to the life-size statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee located in the assembly premises. Seminars were organized in all the districts of the state regarding Atal ji, which were addressed by senior BJP leaders.
A seminar was organized by Ranchi Mahanagar BJP in Atal Vendor Market. Addressing the seminar, state president Babulal Marandi said, great personalities like Atal ji are rare. Today Atal ji may not be physically present among us, but his words, his poems, his thoughts are still guiding the people of the country and the world. Crores of BJP workers are inspired by Atal Ji and are playing their role in society and life. He was a leader with a big heart. He had a soft heart but he was firm and steadfast in his ideas in the service of Maa Bharati. He insisted on freedom of action for the workers in the organization and was not in favor of unnecessary pressure.
Atal Ji, who started his life journey as the son of a teacher, shaped his great personality with his struggle and hard work. He never compromised on his ideas for power. As the first non-Congress Prime Minister, he gave a new direction to Indian politics. He strengthened the coalition politics to take the country forward and to free it from the anti-national policies of the Congress party. But the greed for power could not touch him.
He accepted to be separated from the Janata Party government formed after the Emergency but did not compromise on his ideas. He started a new political journey in the form of BJP. First for 13 days, then for 13 months and then for four and a half years, as Prime Minister, Atal Ji tried his best to make India a developed India, a self-respecting India, a world leader. For the first time, Atal Ji's government took a meaningful initiative to connect villages, poor and farmers with the mainstream of development.
The Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana started a new revolution in the country. Whether it was the Golden Quadrilateral Yojana, or the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Kisan Credit Card or the River Linking Campaign, all the schemes brought the rays of development to the common man. Atal Ji did not bow down to the world's superpowers and conducted the Pokhran test. He also assured the world that India would never use the nuclear bomb first. It was only for self-defense.
In order to build cordial relations with neighboring Pakistan, he traveled by bus to Lahore but also gave a befitting reply to the enemy's deception in Kargil. By giving a speech in Hindi for the first time in the UNO, Atal Ji glorified the national language on the world stage. Atal Ji's government was dedicated to tribal welfare. Respecting public sentiments, he fulfilled the dream of a separate Jharkhand state. Santhali language was included in the 8th Schedule. Tribal Welfare Ministry was created at the Centre.
