BJP finds loopholes in JSSC claims, seeks CBI probe

Sunday, 15 December 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

State spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party Pratul Shahdev expressed deep surprise at the fact that on one hand the Chief Minister ordered a CID investigation of the CGL exam yesterday. On the other hand, today JSSC gave itself a clean chit by holding a press conference regarding the CGL exam. This seems to be a direct case of the Chief Minister influencing the order of the CID investigation.

Pratul said that this haste makes the whole matter even more suspicious. It would have been better if JSSC had told all these facts to the investigating authority during the CID investigation. By holding a press conference, the commission is directly trying to create public opinion and influence the investigation. Pratul said that now the Chief Minister should take the initiative and recommend a CBI investigation.

Pratul said that big allegations were made in the CGL exam. When the exam was conducted for the first time, there was an allegation of leaking the question paper on WhatsApp for Rs 25 lakh. In the second exam, despite the internet being shut down, students made serious allegations of copying the question paper from the old exams. The result of the exam was declared even though the case was pending in the court. After that, lathicharge was also done on the students protesting against the result of the exam in Hazaribagh.

Pratul said that JSSC claimed that more than 80 per cent local students have been selected in the exam. When the cut-off date of locality is not defined at the government level till date, then on what basis is JSSC making this claim. Pratul said that the Chief Minister had said that 100 per cent of the tribal native students here will be given jobs in third and fourth grade. The same thing was repeated in the Governor's address. So this figure should have been 100 per cent.

Shahdev said that the threats received by JSSC officials through email appear to be a very serious matter at first sight. There should be a high level investigation into this and if necessary, the government should also provide security to the officials who have been threatened.
