BJP delegation visits Ayodhya, meets rape victim’s family

Monday, 05 August 2024 | PNS | Ayodhya

A Bharatiya Janata Party delegation led by Rajya Sabha member Baburam Nishad met the family members of the rape victim in Ayodhya on Sunday.

The BJP delegation also included Rajya Sabha member Sangeeta Balwant, Minister of State for Backward Class Welfare in the Yogi Adityanath government, Narendra Kumar Kashyap.

The BJP leaders assured the family of the rape victim that they need not be afraid of anything as the state government would protect their interests. Nishad asked the family members to contact him in case of any problem.

Former Union minister of state Sadhvi Niranjan also met the family members and the victim in the district women’s hospital.

The Ayodhya gang-rape case has reached a political flashpoint between Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of UP assembly by-polls. The BJP is targeting the SP, accusing the main opposition party in UP of protecting main accused Moid Khan in the gang-rape case who is its office-bearer.

After meeting the victim’s family, Nishad said, “We spoke to the victim’s mother and we will submit a detailed report to the national leadership of our party. The Uttar Pradesh government is not going to spare the accused who committed this crime. Akhilesh Yadav talks about DNA test. He talks about PDA but he cannot feel the pain and agony of this daughter (victim). The government will take such action against the accused that many generations will remember it. I request Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to increase the financial amount of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.”
