Due to the chilling icy winds, small cities like Shahdol and Mandla are colder than Shimla, Mount Abu, Dehradun, Jammu and Katra. The night temperature here has dropped below 7 degrees. The days are also cold. Due to cold and fog, the railways have installed fog safe devices in trains.

Meteorologist said that the jet stream is flowing at a speed of 278 km per hour over West-North India. The speed has increased by 18 km in a day. Due to this, cold winds are also coming in the state. Right now the height of the wind is 12.6 km. When it flows down, the effect of cold will intensify. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation system is active in the eastern part and a deep depression is active over the south-western Bay of Bengal. Its effect is also being seen in the state.

At present the nights of Kalyanpur of Shahdol and Mandla are the coldest. Meanwhile, two people lost their lives in two days in the state due to intense cold. On Thursday morning, a middle-aged man died at Dindori bus stand. Death is suspected to be due to cold. Earlier, a stiff body of a youth was found in Betul. The mercury has also dropped in Bhopal and Jabalpur. In such a situation, arrangements are being made in night shelters.

Railways has also installed fog safe devices in trains passing through Bhopal division. A total of 341 fog safe devices (FSD) have been given to loco pilots. Visibility becomes very low during fog. This makes it difficult for loco pilots to properly assess the condition of signals and tracks. In such a situation, the fog safe device has been designed to help the loco pilots. It alerts the pilot.

In November, the night temperature in Bhopal reaches 9 to 12 degrees Celsius. The trend has been the same for the last 10 years. This time too, the mercury is falling rapidly from the second week. It has reached 8.8 degrees Celsius, which is a record.
