Swift action by the emergency medical team at Bhopal Railway Station saved the life of a pregnant woman after she experienced severe labour pains while travelling aboard the Telangana Express.

On the night of December 27, Sheeba (27) was travelling in coach B5 of the Telangana Express with her husband, Anzar Ahmed.

The couple had boarded the train in Hyderabad for their journey to New Delhi. Sheeba began experiencing severe labour pains as the train neared Obaidullaganj station on the outskirts of the city.

Railway employees immediately escalated the matter and coordinated with the emergency medical room located on platform number 1 at Bhopal Railway Station.

Upon the arrival of the expectant mother, the medical response team immediately took her to the medical facility for treatment.

The response team was led by Dr Aman Mishra from Atharv Jyoti Hospital. He later said that the emergency medical room at Bhopal Railway Station was crucial in providing timely and critical health services to passengers.

The emergency medical room at the station, which provides such services, was inaugurated on December 24.
