Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Class and Minority Welfare, Denotified, Nomads and Semi-Nomads Welfare, Krishna Gaur has said that the state government will provide benefits of government schemes on priority basis to weaker sections of the society.

She said that efforts should be made that the benefits of the schemes reach the backward classes, minorities, denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic class of the society on time. Minister of State Smt. Gaur was addressing the meeting of departmental officers after assuming charge in Mantralaya Tuesday.

Principal Secretary Ashok Varnwal was also present on this occasion.

Minister of State Gaur said that we have to work with team spirit by imbibing the basic mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’ ofPrime Minister Narendra Modi. She said that there is need to speed up the process of recruitment on vacant posts in the department. The Minister of State said that the utilization of the budget received by the department should be cent percent. She also laid emphasis on the promotion and dissemination of schemes at the field level.

Community Mangal Bhavan for Banjara community

Soon after assuming charge, Minister of State Smt. Gaur signed and approved the file for giving an amount of Rs 20 lakh for the Manglik Bhawan of the Banjara community. She said that there is a need to conduct a baseline survey of the denotified, nomadic and semi-nomadic classes. After the survey, these sections will be able to effectively avail the benefits of the schemes.

It was told in the meeting that 94 castes, sub-castes and other class groups are declared as backward classes in the state. As many as 50 seater girls’ hostels and 100 seater boys hostels are being operated in 51 districts of the state.

The 500 seater girls’ hostels are also being operated in Jabalpur and Indore. Under the innovative scheme of the department, 60 participants have been given training in care workers and construction sectors.

Out of these, 5 candidates have been selected in private institutions based in Japan. In the meeting, the progress of the schemes of Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Welfare, Waqf Board Masjid Committee was also reviewed. Departmental Secretary Swatantra Kumar Singh and other officers were present in the meeting.
