Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government has imposed an interim ban on rampant purchase of land by outsiders in the name of agriculture and horticulture. He said that the ban has been imposed for land mafias. The CM said that the State government will welcome those who want to purchase land for setting up industrial units or start -up. He was addressing a public meeting at Kapkot in Bageshwar district on Tuesday. The CM said the Uttarakhand government enacted a stringent anti-copying act in the State to break the back of the copying mafia. He said that anti conversion law was also brought by the State government and for the first time action was taken on the encroachers of government land. Similarly the government is continuing to take punitive action on corrupt officers. Dhami said that the State government is also preparing to implement a uniform civil code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. He said that the State government is working with commitment to fulfil the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Uttarakhand will become a developed state of the country. Dhami said that memoranda of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore were signed during the Global Investors Summit held recently.
The CM participated in the Cheli Buvariyun Kothik (fair of daughters and daughter in laws) on the occasion. He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of projects worth Rs 100 crore in the programme.
Lok Sabha MP Ajay Tamta said that Uttarakhand is moving rapidly on the path of development under PM Modi and CM Dhami.
MLA Suresh Gadia said that for the first time such a large crowd has gathered in Kapkot. He said that Bageshwar district is leapfrogging on the development path under the leadership of CM Dhami.
