The Town police here cracked the Fino Bank scam by arresting two persons, Rabi Narayan Maharana (27) from Purusottampur and Rinku Patra Doki (42) from the Bada Bazaar police station area on Saturday.
The police seized offer letters, a Tab, a business correspondent certificate, Identity Cards from Fino Finance Bank bank stamps, a blank passbook, and 37 resumes of college students from the possession of the accused duo.
The police swung into action after one K Suman Kumar Achari lodged a complaint on Friday. Investigations revealed that Rinku , who acquired a Fino Bank franchise along with Rabi, fabricated forged documents.
Later, posing as Fino Bank managers, they assured multiple individuals of employment opportunities and collecting money ranging from Rs. 25,000 to 27,000.
The police have lodged a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 294 and 506, Town PS IIC Suresh Kumar Tripathy said.
