Medical Social Welfare Unit (MSW), AIIMS Bhopal, organized a comprehensive health awareness program at Rajkiya Naveen Uchchatar Madhyamik Vidyalaya Bagsewaniya, Bhopal, on April 12, 2024. This community outreach initiative was conducted as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada, under the esteemed leadership of Prof. Dr. Ajai Singh, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Bhopal.
The event focused on educating students and staff about crucial health issues, including sanitation, personal hygiene, and heat stroke prevention, particularly relevant during the summer season. With the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ajai Singh, the AIIMS Bhopal team emphasized the importance of hand washing, personal hygiene practices, and measures to prevent heat stroke.
During the session, the MSWU staff provided valuable insights into symptoms of heat stroke, the importance of staying hydrated, and methods to prevent common waterborne diseases. Additionally, attendees were informed about recent developments in digital health initiatives, such as the Aushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and schemes like Aushman Bharat Health scheme (AB-PMJAY).
The program also highlighted welfare health schemes like Aushman Bharat and demonstrated methods to check beneficiary status. As part of the initiative, personal hygiene kits containing masks, sanitary pads, ORS, and soap were distributed to students, accompanied by demonstrations of proper hand washing techniques.
The overarching goal of this initiative is to empower students to adopt healthy hygiene habits not only within the school environment but also to propagate awareness among their families, friends, and communities. By providing them with knowledge and resources, we aim to enable them to make informed choices about their well-being.
