In preparation for the upcoming Assembly Elections in 2024, a crucial meeting was convened with senior officers, in-charge officers, and assistant in-charge officers of all cells under the leadership of District Election Officer Ananya Mittal. The meeting took place in the Collectorate Auditorium and aimed to discuss necessary guidelines regarding the action plan and implementation of various cells involved in the election process.
Mittal emphasized the importance of each cell's role in ensuring a smooth election process and instructed all present to execute their duties as per the Election Commission's guidelines. He directed that by the evening of October 8, senior officers from each cell must convene their respective teams to review and submit an updated report on election preparations and action plans.
Attendees included PD ITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, ADM Law and Order Aniket Sachan, and officers from various relevant cells. The meeting provided a platform for detailed discussions regarding the action plans for the Election Cell, Personnel Cell, EVM Cell, Sweep Cell, Material Cell, Expenditure Account Cell, Ballot Cell, Vehicle Cell, Training Cell, Information and Technology Cell, MCC Cell, Media and MCMC Cell, Control Room, Observer Cell, and PWD Cell.
During the session, Mittal stressed the need for integrity, impartiality, and transparency in all election-related tasks. He urged the officers to fully comprehend their responsibilities to avoid any negligence. Clear instructions were provided regarding the action plans developed according to the Election Commission's guidelines, ensuring their effective implementation.
A significant focus was placed on voter awareness, with Mittal urging the Sweep Cell to conduct extensive awareness programs to educate every voter about their voting rights. He instructed the Personnel Cell to compile an accurate voter list, the Training Cell to finalize and adhere to the training calendar, and the EVM Cell to assess the availability of EVMs for training purposes. He also highlighted the importance of preparing all arrangements at the dispatch center in accordance with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensuring the availability of necessary materials on election day.
Additionally, Mittal emphasized the need for vigilant monitoring of social media during the election period and reiterated the importance of adhering to all critical guidelines to ensure the successful completion of the election process.
The meeting concluded with a call for cooperation and coordination among all concerned officers, including the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of JNAC, Deputy Election Officer, District Welfare Officer, District Planning Officer, District Panchayat Raj Officer, District Public Relations Officer, LRD, and District Cooperative Officer, all of whom were present and engaged in the discussions.
