Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, launched with the aim of achieving saturation of various welfare schemes launched by the Government of India and increasing public awareness about these schemes through outreach activities, has now started gaining momentum across the country. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had flagged off the Yatra on November 15, 2023 by simultaneously launching several Information, Education and Communication (IEC) vans from different places across the country from Khunti, Jharkhand.

The Yatra aims to cover 2.60 lakh gram panchayats and 4000+ urban local bodies across the country by January 25, 2024. This journey has also traveled to remote areas of the country to increase public awareness about the welfare schemes of the government. This initiative of the Central Government ensures that every person in the nation, even those in remote areas, can benefit from these social welfare schemes. Various services like on-spot PM Ujjwala Yojana enrolment, MY Bharat volunteer registration, Ayushman card distribution are being provided to the public during the yatra. A large number of citizens are also joining various government schemes, which shows substantial public participation in the Yatra. Through Sankalp Yatra, the public is being encouraged to use their appropriate privileges.

Under the Yatra, 9.47 lakh people have been registered to provide clean cooking fuel under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), providing relief to their families from smoke in the kitchen. Similarly, 1.64 crore Ayushman cards have been issued, through which citizens will get the benefit of comprehensive health coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year under the Ayushman scheme.

During the Yatra, 18.15 lakh people have been provided accident insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). 10.86 lakh citizens have been benefited under Jeevan Jyoti Insurance Scheme. Both these schemes are also furthering financial inclusion across India. Additionally, working capital loans have been provided to more than 6.79 lakh street vendors under the Prime Minister Street Vendor Self-Reliant Fund (PM SVANidhi) Scheme.

Not only this, more than 27.31 lakh youth have registered for the 'Mera Bharat' program of the Government of India, which is a symbol of the new wave of public's increasing attachment towards the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
