The Bilpank police in Ratlam district seized 510 boxes of illicit liquor, valued at nearly Rs 1.23 crore. District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar has directed station in-charges to take strict action against illegal liquor activities.Under the guidance of SP Amit Kumar, Additional SP Rakesh Kumar Khakha, and SDOP Abhilash Bhalavi, Bilpank Police, led by Inspector Ayub Khan, activated its informant network.
A tip-off led to the interception of a truck carrying illegal liquor on the Mhow-Neemuch Highway. The truck (number NL 07 AA 3565) was stopped, and 510 boxes of illegal liquor were found.
The driver, Sunil Kumar, from Haryana, could not provide valid transport documents. Police seized the liquor and truck, registering a case under section 34(2) of the Excise Act.
The truck driver is in custody, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the destination of the illegal liquor, with initial reports suggesting it was being transported from Haryana to Akola, Maharashtra.
The operation was supported by Bilpank Police Station staff, including Inspector Ayub Khan and Head Constables R Ishwarsingh, R Makansingh, R Amit Yadav, R Hemant Yadav, and R Sanjay Soni.
