The Faculty of Commerce at Karim City College successfully hosted a two-day Apprenticeship cum Job Fair in collaboration with the Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region), Kolkata, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from 46 leading establishments, including Tata Steel Ltd., Tata Motors, Timken India Ltd., RSB Transmission India Ltd., Tata BlueScope Steel Ltd., and many others. Over 1201 students registered, with 673 candidates from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bengal attending interviews with prospective employers.
Dr. Mohammad Reyaz, Principal of Karim City College, thanked the Board of Practical Training, Eastern Region, and all participating organizations for their support. He commended the Faculty of Commerce, especially Dr. M.M. Nazri, Head of the Department and Coordinator of the Job Mela, for their diligent efforts. Dr. Nazri highlighted the fair as an exceptional opportunity for students to gain career insights, network with industry professionals, and explore job prospects.
K. Chandra Mouli, Assistant Director, Department of Higher Education, emphasized the benefits of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) for students and companies. He expressed gratitude to Karim City College, the Government of Jharkhand, and other collaborators for their support in ensuring the event's success.
