A three-day Vedic Maths workshop was successfully conducted at DAV Public School, Sector-4, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike. The workshop saw active involvement from around 250 students from classes 6 to 10, who eagerly explored various mathematical techniques and formulas under the guidance of experienced instructors.
On this occasion, the school principal, Sarbendu Shekhar Kar, shared valuable insights with the students, emphasizing the importance of focused effort. He remarked, "Do one thing at a time, and while doing so, put your whole soul into it, to the exclusion of all else. Live and learn – experience is the best teacher in the world. You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself."
The workshop introduced the students to Vedic Mathematics, a system rooted in ancient techniques that simplifies complex mathematical operations. Based on simple rules and principles, Vedic Mathematics offers efficient methods for solving a wide range of mathematical problems, whether they pertain to arithmetic, algebra, geometry, or trigonometry.
Vedic Mathematics consists of sixteen primary formulas and thirteen sub-formulas that streamline fundamental arithmetic operations. It is particularly effective in solving algebraic concepts such as simultaneous equations, quadratic equations, and cubic equations more efficiently than traditional approaches.
The workshop not only enhanced the mathematical skills of the students but also instilled in them a deeper understanding of Vedic principles, making the complex subject of mathematics more approachable and enjoyable.
