The 106th year of the Kadma Shri Shri Ganesh Puja Mahotsav is set to be celebrated with great pomp and grandeur from September 7 (Saturday) to September 22 (Sunday). The festivities will kick off with an inaugural ceremony on September 6 (Friday) at 7:00 PM. The inauguration of the grand pandal will be graced by Chief Guest Raghubar Das, Governor of Odisha, along with Special Guest Sekhar Dey, Director of Sreeleathers and a noted social worker. Other distinguished guests include Sudhanshu Ojha, District President of BJP; R Ravi Prasad, Former President of Tata Workers’ Union, Y Ishwar Rao, social worker, Nandji Prasad, senior BJP leader; Astik Mahato, social worker; and trustees of the organization K Ramana Rao, B Bapuji, AV Appa Rao, M Kanaka Rao, among other city dignitaries.
The following day, on September 7 (Saturday) at 9:30 AM, the Kalash Sthapana and Prana Pratishtha ceremonies will be performed by Chief Guest Arjun Munda, former Union Minister, Government of India, along with Akhand Jyoti Saryu Rai, MLA (East Jamshedpur). The event will also witness the garlanding by Special Guest Rajiv Ranjan Singh, former DIG; RK Sinha, social worker; Amarpreet Singh Kale, former senior leader of BJP; Vinod Singh, social worker; NV R Murthy, social worker; and the trustees of the organization, including B Applananda Rao, K Ramana Rao, B Bapuji, AV Appa Rao, and M Kanaka Rao. Other prominent city guests will also be in attendance.
Later in the evening, at 6:00 PM, the grand fair will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Bidyut Baran Mahto, MP Jamshedpur, alongside special guest Banna Gupta, Health Minister, Jharkhand Government. They will be joined by Suman Mahto, former MP; Laxman Tudu, former MLA, Ghatshila; Sabita Mahto, MLA, Ichagarh; Mangal Kalindi, MLA, Jugsalai; and Diwakar Singh, President, Peace Committee, among other notable guests.
From September 7 to September 22, daily rituals will commence at 5:30 AM with Suprabhat and Vedparayanam, followed by Sanstha Puja at 7:00 AM, Abhishekam Puja at 8:30 AM, Sahasranama Puja at 8:00 AM, Homam Puja at 10:00 AM, and Kumkum Puja on both Fridays. These rituals will be conducted by Priest Shashi Bhushan Shastri from Parvati Puram, Andhra Pradesh. Devotees will also enjoy the Nadhaswaram performances by the Sri Venkateswara Group, Andhra Pradesh, every morning and evening.
As in previous years, a grand fair will be a highlight of the celebrations, featuring three electric swings, four break dances, three Tora Tora rides, a Chand Tara toy train for children, Mickey Mouse, special water bolts, Bengal Fine Arts stalls for women, Kanpur utensils, and a variety of artificial jewelry. The main attractions of the fair include the Ranger swing and Tsunami swing, set to entertain the residents of Jamshedpur.
A Narayan Seva event (Antyodaya Ashram, Bistupur) is scheduled for September 14 (Saturday) at 12:30 PM, followed by the distribution of Mahabhandaar to approximately 6,000 devotees on September 21 (Saturday). The celebrations will conclude with a grand immersion procession starting at 5:00 PM on September 22 (Sunday) from Kadma Rankini Temple, culminating in the immersion at Kharkai River via Kadma Thana, Gopal Maidan, and Bistupur. The procession will feature various tableaux and a spectacular fireworks display, promising a memorable end to the festivities.
