The State Government's Integrated Youth Development Programme (IYDP), otherwise known as "Nua-O", came to a close in the local Baripada Government Degree Sanskrit College here on Friday.
The concluding function was presided over by college principal Dr Padma Devi, who highlighted the aim, objective and the importance of the entire programme. Baripada MLA Prakash Chandra Soren, who graced the function as the chief guest, spoke of the role played by the programme with regard to educational and intellectual development of the students. Journalist and educationist Kavi Vishnu Satpathy, who was the chief speaker on the occasion, stressed the significance of different sports, cultural and social awareness programmes in building and moulding the personality of the students.
Senior Lecturer Chowdhry Aditya Prasad Das conducted the meeting, while senior Lecturer Dr Subal Chandra Sahoo delivered the welcome speech. Lecturer Sudesna Dash read out the programme report, while Lecturer Devashish Panigrahi proposed the vote of thanks at the end.
Lecturers Dr Priyanka Mohanta and Jabashree Panigrahi and staff members Pradeep Kumar Nayak and Dinabandhu Behera also contributed towards the successful completion of the programme. The chanting of Vedic hymns and the singing of Jagannath Stuti were the special attractions of the occasion.
