‘Rs 1K cr sanctioned for B’swar after my visit’

The Odisha Government has taken initiatives for makeover of the educational institutions and under the initiative transformation of 136 colleges with an expenditure of Rs 60 crore was underway and soon they would be completed, said 5T Chairman VK Pandian while addressing students on Saturday here in the district level closing and prize giving ceremony of Nua-O fest.

 

He encouraged them and gave them valuable tips as to how to be successful in life. Pandian also distributed 84 battery- operated cycles for the physically challenged students.

 

A colourful cultural programme was showcased by the students of different colleges. Prizes were given away to winners of various competitions. District Collector DB Shinde and other district level officials were present in the function held at Police Line field.

 

Later, addressing the party workers, Pandian said the Naveen Government has sanctioned over Rs 1,000 crore for major projects including strengthening of household pipe water supply, salt road and high-level bridges. He also stated that soon people working in different sectors including Krushaka Sathi, Swachha Sathi, Bank Mitra, Anganwadi and ASHA workers etc would receive good news from Chief Minister Patnaik.

 

He also said that the new health card, Nabin card, would be issued for those not covered under BSKY even on account of not having a ration card and asked his workers to help in their registration within 10 days. Banks in each GP would be established and LAccMI buses would ply in the villages from the month of February, he said.

 

He urged the party workers to propagate the welfare and developmental schemes of the State Government and also urged to enhance the vote percentage of the BJD to ensure Naveen Patnaik repeats his term as Chief Minister for the 6th time.
