A banquet in the national Capital Dwarka area has turned into a ‘fortress’ for the notorious wedding of Gangsters Sandeep Jhanjhariya alias Kala Jathedi and Anuradha Chaudhary alias Lady Don alias Madam Minz. A total of six hours of parole has been granted by Tihar Jail to facilitate all ceremonies, including ring ceremony followed by marriage on Tuesday and then a visit to their ancestral village in Sonepat, Haryana, to seek the blessings of their elders.
The banquet has been booked by Jathedi’s lawyer for Rs 51,000 and the Delhi police has deployed a sizable contingent of 250 police personnel, SWAT commandos with cutting-edge equipment, special cell and crime branch teams and officers from the CID of Haryana. “Police personnel and the crime branch have also finalized the list of over 150 guests attending the wedding and all waiters and other staff will be issued ID cards,” said a Delhi police official.
Jathedi is a resident of village Jatheri in Haryana’s Sonepat district. In July 2021, Delhi police arrested Jathedi, who was being held at the Tihar jail in Delhi, along with his fiancé Anuradha. The Lady Don is also facing several cases including murder, extortion, kidnapping and is currently out on bail and stays with her paternal family in West Delhi area.
Given his history of escaping custody and also orchestrating the escape of associates, its not going to be an easy task for Delhi police to ‘arrange’ this wedding. In 2020, Jathedi and his gang members allegedly opened fire on an officer while being driven by Haryana Police to a court in Faridabad, causing injuries and helped him get away also in 2021 on a shootout at Delhi’s GTB hospital was orchestrated by Jathedi and his gang members in order to release an associate by the name of Kuldeep Fajja from police custody. Fajja was later re-captured and killed in an encounter with Delhi Police’s special cell.
Jathedi is close to infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He is charged with multiple felonies in multiple states, including robbery, attempted murder. Murder, extortion and arms act. A second police officer claims to have participated in corporate extortion and contract killings.
In spite of this, Jathedi was given a six-hour parole for his wedding by a Delhi court, which meant he could spend March 12 outside of jail from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. He will be taken to his hometown village Jatheri under the district Sonipat, Haryana the next day for customs related to the wedding.
