A 30-year-old woman who avoided a neighbour following uncomfortable interaction was allegedly stabbed by him in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar area.
According to the police on Tuesday, the man was identified as a 36 year old Ravinder Singh alias Goldy. Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Vichitra Veer said, “On Monday, at around 11:30 am, an incident of stabbing was reported in Tilak Nagar police station.” The man was arrested and a weapon recovered from him, he added.
“As per the details that came during the enquiry, a female around 30 years of age was stabbed by a man named Ravinder Singh. The lady was admitted in the hospital with multiple stab wounds. She was operated late last evening and is under observation,” he added. The incident took place on Monday when the accused entered the victim's house and stabbed her multiple times, they said. The accused used to live nearby with his family. “In the initial investigation, it has come forward that the victim had come to live in this neighborhood around two years back with her husband and kids,” Veer said.
Singh and the victim had formal interactions occasionally. “The accused and the victim had a formal interaction occasionally, living in the same neighborhood,” another senior police officer said.
