The ruling BJP and Opposition Congress on Thursday announced that they would protest against each across Maharashtra on Friday on matters relating to leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.

While the BJP will be protesting against the purported anti-reservation statements made by Rahul Gandhi in the United States, the Congress will be upping against the death threats reportedly handed out to the leader of the Opposition in LS. Announcing its decision to stage protests across Maharashtra on Friday over Rahul’s anti-reservation statements made in the US, the BJP said: “The Congress’ real face has been exposed. It has dual yardsticks over social justice and reservations. We will not tolerate this. That’s why we will be staging protests across the state on the theme of `Congress hatao, Aarakshan Bachao’ ”State BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, party’s national general secretary, senior minister Chandrakant Patil, Mumbai city president Ashish Shellar and various other party leaders will be leading protests  at various places in the state. 

On the other hand, the Congress will flag the issue of death threats allegedly handed by Delhi BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah

“Tarvinder Singh Marwah has issued a death threat to Rahul Gandhi. This is a highly serious matter. Marwah’s statement reflects the true face of the BJP. The BJP has an allergy to the name "Gandhi," which is why, from Modi to all other leaders, they consistently defame Rahul Gandhi. Now, the BJP has crossed all limits.

“Based on a single statement by Rahul Gandhi, they have threatened to kill him like former Prime Minister Indiraji Gandhi,” Maharashtra Pradesh Congress  chief Nana Patole said, as he asked the BJP leadership to take stern action  against Marwah
