Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Wednesday arrived in New Delhi ahead of his maiden meeting with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah after taking charge.
Omar is expected to call on the Prime Minister on his arrival from the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia while he is expected to call on the Home Minister late Wednesday evening.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister Omar is likely to submit a resolution passed by his cabinet seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Though the office of Chief Minister remained tight lipped over the agenda of Chief Minister's visit to New Delhi but the political grapevine suggested Omar is headed to New Delhi to formally submit a resolution seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir in its original form.
Omar is also likely to meet a few other central ministers seeking their support to push the ongoing vital developmental projects in the region.
Omar is likely to take up the issue of 'uninterrupted' power supply during the peak winter season with the Union minister.
Before heading to New Delhi Omar attended a series of meetings with the administrative secretaries of various departments and took stock of the ongoing developmental projects and the availability of power supply.
